At Glenaulin, bedrooms are tastefully decorated to a high standard and are fitted with nurse call facilities, wash hand basins, vanity units, and television points. In order to facilitate communication, the entire home is WIFI enabled and we have facilities for Skype, FaceTime etc. Additionally, residents’ own private telephone lines are available.
Glenaulin added new wings in the recent expansion which provide luxurious modern en-suite accommodation.
Glenaulin’s main dining room provides a relaxing setting for dining. It is considered an architectural gem with original murals which have been carefully preserved throughout its 115 year history.
The courtyard sensory garden provides a haven of serenity. It is focussed around a central water feature which is calming and soothing.
The interior space has a levelled path and lawn which allows for safer walking and wheelchair access. It is very popular venue for activities such as gardening, singing class, or just a bit of rest and relaxation and is overlooked by our Dementia Care Unit.
The homely layout of St. Catherine’s Dayroom is based on best care in Dementia specific design. Looking more like 1934 than 2014, it contains a functional kitchen right down to its traditional Belfast sink.
The oratory provides a relaxing, space for prayer and spiritual reflection during the day.
Although Glenaulin is a non denominational Nursing Home, mass is celebrated on Friday afternoons for those who wish to take part.
Glenaulin has a fully furnished salon for our residents to relax in for the full pampering service. A professional hairstylist visits Glenaulin twice weekly.
A lift serves all floors with wheelchair ramps to the gardens and handrails fitted in the corridors of the house. Laundry and dry-cleaning services are available on request.
