CORNONAVIRUS (Covid 19)
Firstly may I take this opportunity to thank you all for your understanding and co-operation in light of our recent visiting restrictions in Glenaulin in the interests of the residents safety and well-being.
As per our last advisory note sent on Friday we noted that we would review the situation and revert to you all. Our multi-disciplinary teams met again today to analyse the situation and to decide on a measured and proportionate course of action.
We had requested family members to only visit in exceptional circumstances and only one nominated person previously but unfortunately large numbers of people presented to the nursing home to visit.
We have now made a decision to close Glenaulin to ALL visitor’s until further notice.
Family members can leave items at reception for onward transmission to the residents and laundry can be drooped off and picked up at reception. You can make contact with your relative via phone/e-mail or skype.
Our Skype address is :Glenaulin Skype
We have a dedicated tablet available for family members who would like to skype their relative and our staff are available to assist.
We urge you all to be cognisant and understanding of the measures that is required in the interest of our resident and staff safety. Older people and people in nursing homes with preexisting medical conditions are particularly vulnerable if they contact the virus. The virus presents an unprecedented situation for us here in Glenaulin and the care provided within.
We are imposing these measures in the best interests of residents and staff. We thank you all sincerely for your understanding and patience during this period of unprecedent challenges presented by Covid19.
